Galentines Stationary

I designed invitations, menus, place cards, and envelopes for a Galentines Day party I hosted for my friends. I printed these materials to be mailed and set out on the tables.

I got the idea for this project when I decided to host a Galentines party for my friends. I wanted it to feel fancy, elegant, and girly. I stuck to a simple light pink, red, and white color palette and experimented with textures, materials, and graphics to increase visual interest. I chose 3 fonts — a script, a serif, and a san serif. Freight Big Book was the serif font I used because its ornate nature and contrasting stroke widths bring an elegant feel. The script, Handsome Pro, was used as an accent to make it feel girly while Mundial is clean and readable. Since Mundial is a san serif monoline font, its consistency and simplicity complement the detailed Handsome Pro and Freight Big Book.

I created the invitations in Adobe

Illustrator and used Adobe Fresco to

draw the illustrations. The menus and place

cards were also made in Illustrator with the lace

detailing being drawn in Adobe Fresco. I used Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Dimension to assist with 3D mockups and editing. I made the illustrations very detailed to make the invitations feel even more elaborate. The martini glasses with ribbons were chosen because they fit with the cocktails and coloring theme, have a sophisticated feel, and the ribbons add a feminine touch. I  chose to draw pajamas and cocktail ingredients to give recipients details on the dress code and activities of the party.

INVITATION

I created this 5in x 7in gatefold invitation to build suspense and create a memorable experience for the viewer. After printing, I folded them and tied a ribbon around them so opening the invitation felt like unwrapping a present.

MENU + PLACE CARDS

I created place cards and menus for the actual party to further develop the aesthetic. The 4in x 9in menu cards gave information about the food being served while the 3.5in x 2in place card was stacked on top to communicate the seating arrangements.

I created an envelope design to stay on theme and further elevate the opening experience for the recipient. I created a die line in Adobe Illustrator, created a pattern, added texture, and then imported it to Fantastic Fold to create a final 3D model.
